Save the Shrine prevented the demolition of the Chicago Landmark Shrine of Christ the King in the winter of 2016. The Coalition to Save the Shrine then incorporated as Save the Shrine, NFP, and actively supported the Shrine's restoration through education and fundraising until January 2021. We are back in action following the Archdiocese of Chicago's decision to ban public Masses and other sacraments at the Shrine effective August 1st 2022, which we understand as a direct threat to the preservation and restoration of this Landmark building.
